ICCX 2026 in Istanbul has come to an end - and what an inspiring event it was.

It was a wonderful opportunity to meet the global AAC family and connect with participants from many regions of the world, all looking for the latest insights and developments in our industry.

Robert Turski, President of the European Aerated Concrete Association (EAACA), captured the spirit of the event perfectly in his keynote:

“Challenges and Opportunities for Tomorrow’s Construction Industry”

AAC is a fantastic building material that offers exactly what the future of construction demands: strength, light weight, ease of use, and full recyclability. Its unique characteristics make AAC a key solution for circular construction and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

With an installed capacity of approximately 7.0 million cubic meters per year, Türkiye is one of the largest AAC markets worldwide. Several market players are currently considering upgrades and modernisation of their existing plants to meet future requirements.

Simon Lou, Co-Managing Director of our joint venture company Wehrhahn Teeyer Smart Technology Corp. Ltd., addressed this demand in detail and presented feasible, attractive solutions based on an already successfully executed showcase project.

The audience response was extremely positive and clearly showed that clients are highly interested in benchmarking advanced technology under favourable conditions.

We are truly grateful for all the valuable discussions, inspiring exchanges, and friendly moments we experienced during this outstanding event.

Please feel free to reach out - we look forward to continuing the dialogue.

Modernisation of a Wehrhahn superSMART plant in Turkey

Wehrhahn machinery has been successfully commissioned

STT Türk Gazbeton has taken over the former ATEK aerated concrete plant in Çorlu and is now actively driving forward its modernisation.

The existing Wehrhahn superSMART aerated concrete production plant has been operating successfully for many years. To bring the plant up to date and increase automation, Wehrhahn was commissioned to modernise key sub-systems, including mould locking and mould release, as well as machines for mould cleaning and mould oiling. This minimises staffing requirements, increases production efficiency and further reduces manufacturing costs.

Great news: 1st cake at SOCERAM in Târgu Cărbunești (Romania)

Once the installation work is complete, the team can look forward to the reward of processing the first cake, which is a remarkable achievement following weeks of hard work.

The mood at the construction site was one of high spirits when the first AAC cake was produced. The new plant is the second Wehrhahn production facility for Soceram. The new SMART represents the latest generation of machines and technologies. It has all the features recently developed to ensure the highest possible plant efficiency and the lowest possible production costs.

Top news: 1st cake at EKORU in Volla (Italy)

After the installation work has been finished, processing the first cake is always the reward for the work of the last few weeks - and a very special event.

There was a great enthusiasm from everyone at the construction site when the first AAC cake was tilted. The new state of the art Wehrhahn cutting line at EKORU is now operational!

Ensuring Quality and Innovation: The Role of Laboratory and „Development and Technology“ Department

AAC worldwide Preview

Wehrhahn Teeyer Smart Technology Corp. Ltd. established in China

After being the number one European equipment supplier for AAC and fibre cement in China for more than 20 years, we are pleased to announce our cooperation with Teeyer from Changzhou.

The joint venture company ‘Wehrhahn Teeyer Smart Technology’ was established to complement the key equipment supplied by Wehrhahn from Germany in projects where customers intend to procure the equipment specified as ‘local’ or ‘buyer’ supply through a reputable single contractor. It enables Wehrhahn together with the Joint Venture company to offer cost-attractive turnkey solutions to customers around the globe.

Our partner Teeyer from Changzhou is a listed company with an excellent reputation in the Chinese market. Prior to the establishment of the joint venture, the parties realized several projects. Wehrhahn supplied the key equipment from Germany and Teeyer completed the ‘local’ delivery according to Wehrhahn's drawings and specifications.

Deeper co-operation in the form of a joint venture is now the logical consequence.

Customers who are interested in such cost-efficient turnkey solutions are cordially invited to contact us!

2nd Production plant for PVA fibre reinforced corrugated sheets in Sri Lanka

El Toro from Sri Lanka is already a well-known brand for high-quality autoclaved sheets. Now the second production plant for PVA fibre reinforced corrugated sheets is in operation.

The new production plant is equipped with all the latest Wehrhahn innovations. The most recent sheet thickness control system enables highly feasible production conditions and significantly reduces the carbon footprint of the production process. Another innovation is the highly flexible waterjet cutting system, which is implemented in a corrugated sheet plant for the first time.

We would like to thank the entire El Toro team for their excellent cooperation on this project!

Wehrhahn presentation at the IIBCC 2024 in Colombo (Sri Lanka)

The IIBCC 2024 was an excellent venue with a superlative programme and great speakers covering a wide range of topics.

Our fibre cement specialist, Rainer Becker, gave a presentation on „Sheet thickness control system optimization through mathematical modelling and self-learning pump maps“.

Intelligent control systems are a vital part in all Wehrhahn production plants. In fibre cement sheet production plants the automatic sheet thickness control system has a decisive influence on the plant performance and feasibility.

A general issue with sheet thickness control is the linked structure of the various controllers involved for tank filling levels, slurry throughput, felt speed and slurry density. Time lag and mutual dynamical influences can lead to increased sheet thickness tolerances under certain operating conditions such as plant start-up or e.g. in the event of process disturbances by changes in flocculation efficiency or increasing pipe clogging.

Here considerable improvements can be achieved.
