Production of AAC in Wehrhahn plants

State-of-the-art highly efficient AAC production plants

Machinery, complete plants and know-how for Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC)
Material PreparationACC Production
AAC is a steam cured mix of sand or pulverized fuel ash (PFA), cement, lime, water and an aeration agent.

Dosing and Mixing
Wehrhahn's computerized dosing and mixing plant (WECOMIX) forms a slurry finally poured into a mould. The slurry in the mould rises and stiffens to build a cake with millions of tiny pores.

CuttingACC Thickness Cutter
After the cake has gained sufficient strength it is tilted out of the mould and is cut with wires and knives. Wehrhahn plants are recognized for unsurpassed precise cutting. Tongue and groove, profiles and handholds are cut before autoclaving so that no milling in the hard-cured AAC is required. This reduces production costs and avoids hard scrap.

Curing  ACC Autoclave Transport
The precisely cut cake is autoclaved (steam cured) for approx.
12 hours. During steam curing the unique crystal structure of AAC is produced which gives AAC its high strength and dimensional stability. The physical properties in relation to its density are far more advanced than in ordinary concrete. Wehrhahn's automatic autoclave system (WACO) allows easy control of the complicated chemical process in the autoclave.

Unloading / Packing
Immediatley after autoclaving Wehrhahn's versatile unloading, sorting and packing systems handle the whole range of AAC products. The capacities of Wehrhahn's production plants usually range from 150 to 2000 m³/day (5.000 to 70.000 ft³/ day).
